چکیده

Volcanic rocks in the Miramichi inlier Maine occur two areas separated by Bottle Lake plutonic complex: Danforth segment (Stetson Mountain Formation) north of complex and Greenfield to south (Olamon Stream Formation). Both suites are dominantly pyroclastic, with abundant andesite, dacite, rhyolite tuffs subordinate lavas, breccias, agglomerates. Rare basaltic a small area tuffs, agglomerates, lavas restricted segment. U–Pb zircon geochronology dates volcanism at ca. 469 Ma, Floian–Dapingian boundary between Lower Middle Ordovician. Chemical analyses reveal calc-alkaline suite erupted continental volcanic arc, either Meductic or earliest Balmoral phase Popelogan arc activity. The most likely correlative Group west-central New Brunswick. Orogen-parallel lithologic chemical variations from Brunswick east-central may result eruptions different centers. bimodal Poplar Maine–New border is 10–20 myr younger than more an early back-arc basin rifting late-stage event. Coeval Miramichi, Weeksboro–Lunksoos Lake, Munsungun Cambrian–Ordovician inliers not consistent tectonic models involving northwestward migration volcanism. This >150 km span cannot be explained single east-facing subduction zone, suggesting one zone/arc region.

petrography, geochemistry and tectonic setting of salmabad tertiary volcanic rocks, southeast of sarbisheh, eastern iran

introduction the area reviewed and studied in this paper is located 5 km southeast of sarbisheh city at eastern border of the lut block (jung et al., 1983; karimpour et al., 2011; richards et al., 2012) in eastern iran between 59° 47′ and 59° 53′ e longitude and 32°30′ and 32°34′ n latitude. the magmatic activity in the lut block began in middle jurassic (165-162 ma) and reached its peak in ter...

Petrogenesis and Tectonic Setting of the Young Volcanic Adakitic Rocks in Darehzereshk’s Hassan abad (SW Yazd)

Sciences, Kharazmi University Introduction Petrogenesis of continental magmatic arc is more complicated than oceanic arcs. Because some various parameters affect the composition of magmatism in the congenital margin, such as continental crust contamination, mixing with crustal magmas and the deformation phenomena from primary mantle magma (Martin et al., 2005; Eyuboglu et al., 2018; Pawley and...

Distribution and geochemical variations among paleogene volcanic rocks from the north-central Lut block, eastern Iran

The Lut block in eastern Iran is a micro-continental block within the convergent orogen between the Arabian, Eurasian and Indian plates. Large areas of the north-central, eastern, and western Lut block are covered by volcanic rocks of Paleogene, Neogene and Quaternary age.  Peak volcanic activity took place in the north-central part of the Lut block during the Eocene, and then dramatically decr...

introduction the study area is a small part of the urumieh-dokhtar structural zone in the markazi province, located in the northeastern part of the farmahin, north of arak (hajian, 1970). the volcanic rocks studied from the area include andesite, dacite, rhyodacite, ignimbrite and tuff of middle to late eocene age (middle lutetian to upper lutetian) (ameri et al., 2009). it seems that folding a...
